Indoor Skiing and snowboarding 2008-2009.
Get in shape now for your Winter Ski Holiday! Whether you are a beginner
or have years of experience, everyone can learn to ski (better) with expert
tuition. Even if you are not going on a ski holiday you can participate – just
for the experience! ASV’s skiing course consists of 6 lessons held in the
indoor Ski-Inn (http://www.ski-inn.nl) in
the Amsterdam city centre. This ski school is a member of the BIS (the
association of Indoor Ski Schools) which guarantees quality and expertise. For

This year the classes are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Monday and
Tuesday sessions start at 6pm and 7pm; Thursday’s are only at 6pm. Each lesson
lasts 60 minutes. For each class hour we have two adjacent ski slopes available
at the same time. There is also a bar which looks onto the slopes... supporters
are most welcome!
The first cluster of lessons starts in week 46 (10th November)
and will be finished before Christmas; the second cluster begins in week 2 (5th
January 2009) and will be finished before the February half-term school holiday.
For the crazy and die-hards amongst you there are also snowboard lessons
available! These are also on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The location this year is again in the middle of Amsterdam near the
Leidseplein, at ‘Ski-Inn’ at the W.G.Plein. This year’s Shell ski package
consists of:

Six
60 minute lessons spread over six consecutive weeks
·
8 people per hour: 2 classes of 4 people on
two adjacent ski slopes. There are only 2 people on each ‘piste’ at any one
time.
· New
equipment available for use during the classes. For the ski lessons this is
skis, boots and poles. For the snowboarding lessons this is snowboard, boots,
elbow-and kneepads.
· Lessons
are conducted by experienced and licensed ski instructors
We do our best to take each person’s experience into consideration so
that those of similar experience are grouped together as much as is possible
(e.g. beginners together).
Priority
will be given to participants who are ASV members. Of course, your partners and
spouses can register too, but whether they will be placed depends on the number
of Shell employees, who obviously have preference. If there are places
available, then children can also take part. Friends of friends, boyfriends,
girlfriends, cousins, nieces, neighbours and dogs will not even be considered
(so don’t even think about asking!)
Prices:
The
cost of the ski course is still a bargain at € 60.
- per person for ASV members. For non-members, such as partners, the price is €
66. - This extra € 6. - includes automatic membership of ASV and ensures that
we will continued to be subsidized by Shell. The greater the number of members,
the greater the subsidy we receive.
Registration for the skiing or snowboarding lessons can only be achieved
by filling in the coupon and sending it to Sjoerd Servaas.
This
coupon is the only means of
application that will be accepted. Only one person per coupon
please. Closing date for applications is Friday 24th October 2008.
You
will be notified by Email of the cluster, day and time you have been allocated.
In the event of certain days & times being oversubscribed, we will do our
best to find a solution.
